How to Set Up Your First Review Funnel in 10 Minutes
5 min read
A review funnel is a system that takes a happy customer and guides them, frictionlessly, to leaving a review on the platform you need most. Without a funnel, most happy customers say nothing. With one, they become your most valuable marketing asset.
Here's how to set one up in under 10 minutes.
Step 1: Create Your Client and Smart Link
The smart link is the core of your funnel — a single URL that routes customers to the right review platform based on the weights you set. Start by adding your business as a client in your AIProof dashboard, then navigate to the Smart Link section.
Add your review destinations: Google Business Profile first (your review link looks like https://g.page/r/YOUR_ID/review), then Yelp, then any industry-specific platform. Assign weights — if you need Google most urgently, give it 70% and split the remaining 30% between other platforms.
Step 2: Train Your AI on Your Services
AI Training tells AIProof's review analysis system what your business actually does, so it can better interpret incoming reviews and draft better replies. Navigate to AI Training and add:
- Service chips: The specific services you offer (e.g., "Emergency plumbing," "Water heater installation," "Drain cleaning")
- Keywords: Terms your best customers use to describe working with you
- Tone examples: Paste in 2-3 examples of how you'd like to sound in review replies
This takes 3-4 minutes and dramatically improves the quality of AI-drafted replies you'll get on incoming reviews.
Step 3: Get Your QR Code and Share Link
Your smart link has a public URL at /r/your-business-name. Download the QR code from the QR Code section — print it on receipts, table tents, invoices, or anything a customer touches after a completed service.
The link works on any device. Customers scan it, get asked how their experience was, and happy customers are routed to leave a review. Unhappy customers are caught before they hit Google.
Step 4: Send Your First Campaign
QR codes are passive. Campaigns are active. Navigate to Campaigns, paste in a list of recent customer phone numbers, and send a simple SMS asking for a review. A good first message is direct: "Hi [Name], thanks for choosing [Business]. We'd love your feedback — it takes 30 seconds: [link]"
The first campaign to a list of recent happy customers typically generates the biggest spike in reviews you'll see. Don't skip it.
What to Expect
Most businesses see their first new reviews within 24-48 hours of going live. The funnel compounds over time — each month you run campaigns and display QR codes, your review velocity builds, your AI citation visibility increases, and new customers find you more easily.
